North Road collision – pedestrian injured

Police and four ambulances attended the scene of a collision on North Road, Lerwick on Tuesday morning

As a result of the incident, which occurred near the Gremista Road junction, police have closed the section of North Road between Leask garage and the roundabout at the bottom of Staney Hill. Traffic will be diverted along the Old North Road.

UPDATE:  2.40pm

Police are carrying out enquiries into Tuesday morning’s crash between a car and a pedestrian and are urging witnesses to get in touch.

It is understood the pedestrian was injured in the incident. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or call into Lerwick Police Station.
