Driver charged after car crash near Lerwick

One of the cars involved in the collision lies on its side.

A 24-year-old man has been charged following a traffic collision on the outskirts of Lerwick.

Police received reports of the two-car incident on the A970, between Lerwick and Gulberwick, at 5.31pm yesterday (Tuesday).

Both cars were off the road, which had one lane closed for under an hour. The police would not name the car models involved.

Nobody received serious injuries.

Police said a male driver had been charged with road traffic offences.
