A man was charged with sexual offences and assault at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Mark Fullerton, whose address was given as Shetland, appeared in private facing nine sexual offences charges, including four rape charges and one sexual assault charge.
He was also charged with two assaults and stalking.
The 20-year-old made no plea, had his case continued for further examination and was released on bail.
