Isles fiddler awarded MBE

Fiddler Margaret Robertson has become an MBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list.

She was awarded the honour for her “services to traditional Scottish music”.

The founder and musical director of fiddle group Hjaltibonhoga, Robertson has played across the world to thousands, including on the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2016.

Scalloway community leader Sonia Inkster was also recognised this year with a BEM.
