Eight hospital staff were asked to self isolate after staff at the Gilbert Bain Hospital contracted coronavirus.
NHS Shetland says a further 30 were tested, and all tested negative.
The board says there was no breach of personal protective equipment, and patients were not put at risk.
It comes after NHS Shetland said it was looking to bring in agency workers after two hospital workers contracted the virus.
