Consultant Youth Local Action Group Co-ordinator

Graduate Placements, or similar (x3)

In co-operation with Orkney, Outer Hebrides and Shetland

Pending the imminent closure of the LEADER 2014-2020 Programme the Orkney, Outer Hebrides and Shetland Local Action Groups (LAGs) have collaborated on a project proposal which has subsequently been awarded a grant from the Scottish Government’s Rural Communities Testing Change (RCTC) funding. The project is to further develop the proposal of a Youth Local Action Group and to explore the potential to establish this structure as a sustainable model that can be replicated in other Scottish LAG areas. Whilst the proposal is to be delivered in co-operation between the three islands groups the Outer Hebrides LAG will be the primary contact.

The project aims to test, explore, and identify the most appropriate, inclusive, and transparent method of developing and operating a Youth Local Action Group that would be available to utilise a range of funding options including government and non-government funding opportunities.

To deliver this Project we seek to appoint a suitably experienced person to the position of:

Consultant Youth Local Action Group Co-ordinator

This position will be responsible for the overall delivery of the Project and the management of graduate placement positions and will be located, ideally, within the participating Island regions. Further information on the position and how to apply can be found on the Public Contracts Scotland webpage.

To support the work of the Consultant Co-ordinator, the Project also seeks to appoint:

Graduate Placements, or similar (x3)

The position is a fantastic opportunity, suited to a recently qualified person(s), or similar, looking to gain relevant and significant working experience. There are 3 Placement positions available, ideally, one to be located in each participating region of Orkney, Outer Hebrides and Shetland, however this can be negotiated depending on knowledge of the local area.

Positions are on self-employed, consultancy basis and are fixed term until March 2022 and are financed by the Scottish Governments Rural Communities Testing Change Fund.

Please be aware that to apply you must be registered to the Public Contracts Scotland website. If you are not registered and interested in applying for the positions, then please contact a member of the LEADER Team for further details:
