Offshore worker transferred for medical treatment

The coastguard’s Rescue 900 helicopter was called out at around 7.20am this morning (Sunday) to carry out a medical transfer.

The transfer took place from an offshore facility 79 nautical miles east of Sumburgh.

Lerwick rescue teams met with the patient at Tingwall, with the operation concluding at around 10am.

No information regarding the nature of the medical emergency was released.
