UPDATE: Teenage girl taken to hospital after being hit by car

A teenage girl was injured after being hit by a car while walking near to the Anderson High School.

Police Scotland said officers were called to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and car near the Clickimin junction on North Lochside, Lerwick, at around 2.10pm on Friday.

A force spokeswoman said a teenage girl was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged. 

“Advice and assistance has been given.”

Police had initially said the collision happened in Twageos Road – but clarified the statement on Saturday morning.
