A 24-year-old man appeared in court charged with an assault causing permanent disfigurement.
Euan Faithfull, from the Aberdeenshire area, entered no plea when he appeared before Lerwick Sheriff Court in private today (Wednesday).
He has been charged with assault to injury, permanent disfigurement and impairment.
Faithfull was committed for further examination and released on bail.
