A coastguard team has been deployed to Knab area of Lerwick to assist with a police-led incident below the cemetery.
The Lerwick Lifeboat has also been deployed in the area.
It came after police received a report of concern for a person in Lerwick at around 2pm. The individual has since been traced and taken to hospital for treatment.
