Accused of assault

A man accused of assaulting a woman in Scalloway has been warned to stay out of the village.

Graeme Hannah, 25, of Hamnavoe, Burra, was told to abide by the special bail condition after he appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court.

Hannah is charged with pushing his victim onto a couch, pinning her down and repeatedly punching her on the head and body before spitting on her face.

His case before honorary sheriff Eric Peterson was today continued without plea.

Hannah was released on bail until his next appearance on 26th June.

But he was warned not to approach or contact his alleged victim.
