Fish prices remain fairly poor





It was another quiet week for fish markets in Shetland and while slightly better than last week, prices were still poor.

A representative from LHD said that while there were good supplies of fish coming in, the poor demand was keeping prices down.

Whitefish prices: cats £1-£1.63; cod £0.65-£2; eels £0.20-£0.88; haddock £0.55-£1.75; hake £1.20-£1.60; halibut £3.50-£8.97; John Dory £6-£8.02; lemons £0.26-£5; ling £0.64-£0.85; lythe £1.70-£2.70; megrim £0.50-£4; monkfish £0.50-£4.18; plaice £0.40-£1.50; saithe £0.40-£1.56; skate £1.17-£1.92; squid £2.36-£4.65; turbot £4.55-£10; tusk £0.32-£0.40; whiting £0.50-£1.63; witches £0.92-£1.46.
