Lerwick artist to exhibit at Duff House in summer

Lerwick artist Jim Tait will be exhibiting in the tea-room at Duff House Galleries in Banff from 25th June to 9th August this year.

The first of the paintings for the exhibition have been completed: the Buckie seiner Sirius leaving Aberdeen Harbour; the Buckie drifter Crimond with the Ramna Stacks in the background; the Buckie seiner Avoca approaching Lerwick Harbour; and the Portknockie MFV Utopia ploughing through a swell.

He is currently working on a picture of the Gamrie drifter Golden West and the Banff-registered (but Fraserburgh-skippered) drifter Forethought going out past the Bressay Lighthouse on their way to a rendezvous with the herring shoals.

Mr Tait’s website is at www.tait-gallery.co.uk
