Man charged with causing 'permanent disfigurement' in assault

A 58-year-old man appeared in court charged with carrying out an assault which caused severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

Ronald Young is also charged with dangerous driving.

Young, whose address was given as Shetland, appeared in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court today (Wednesday).

He entered no plea, was committed for further examination, and released on bail.

His next appearance is yet to be confirmed.
