Man charged with rape and communicating indecently

A 57-year-old man has been charged with rape and communicating indecently.

David Sherwood appeared in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court today (Wednesday) when he made no plea.

Sherwood, whose address was given as "Shetland", was committed for further examination and released on bail.

The date of his next appearance has yet to be confirmed.
