New council boss takes up his post

New Shetland Islands Council chief executive David Clark took up his post on Monday and immediately indicated he was looking forward to the challenges ahead.

Mr Clark said: "Everyone I've met so far has been really friendly and helpful. I'm looking forward to getting round all the departments to make myself known, as early as possible.

"While there will be changes, I'm confident we have a great team here, and that we will enjoy rising to meet the challenges together."

Mr Clark made a brief visit last week to meet Morgan Goodlad, the man he succeeded in the top council post, who stepped down on Friday.
