Police issue appeal over car thefts





Police are reminding people to lock all vehicles and property when unattended and store valuables appropriately following two thefts from unlocked cars over the weekend.

One car was broken into in the Staneyhill area of Lerwick between 7.30pm on Friday and 3pm on Saturday and a number of items were removed.

In the second incident an item of electrical equipment was stolen from an unlocked car in Holmsgarth Brae, Lerwick, some time between 10.30pm on Friday and 4.15pm on Sunday.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information about these two thefts to contact them at Lerwick Police Station.
