Shortage of fish





Prices were good at the fishmarkets this week although fish have been in short supply due to the unsettled weather.

The early part of the week was quiet but landings picked up yesterday.

Whitefish prices: catfish £2.04-£2.15; cod £1.25-£2.68; dogfish £0.53-£1.26; haddock £0.49-£2.50; hake £1.18-£2.30; halibut £5-£9.95; John Dory £2.60-£3.45; lemon sole £2.50-£6.41; ling £1.45-£2.15; lythe £2.80-£3.20; megrims £1.82-£7.37; monfish £2.23-£4.26; plaice £0.47-£2.03; roes £2.95-£3.36; saithe £0.52-£1.13; skate £0.45-£1.19; squid £1.80-£4.02; turbot £6.90-£13.33; tusk £0.97-£1.10; whiting £0.30-£1.85; witches £1.58-£2.68.
