SIC chief executive complains to police about misleading information
Shetland Islands Council chief executive David Clark has filed a complaint with the police alleging an attempt to damage his reputation by sending out misleading information to councillors.
The matter is believed to involve an email circulated several weeks ago which contained false information relating to the affairs of Mr Clark’s now-dormant consultancy Dalzell Projects.
Asked about the matter, Shetland police chief inspector Dave Bushell said: “We have nothing to comment on at this stage.”
Mr Clark is on holiday while an anonymous investigator from the local government organisation Cosla carries out an investigation into a complaint made by councillor Jonathan Wills that he was threatened with violence by Mr Clark during a telephone conversation more than two weeks ago. Police dropped their investigation into that complaint early last week. Mr Clark was unavailable for comment.
