Teenager remanded in custody





A teenager has been remanded in custody charged with numerous offences.

Sixteen-year-old Samuel Barlow appeared in private on petition at Lerwick Sheriff Court on a petition alleging two charges of theft and three allegations of assault.

He is also charged with behaving in a threatening and abusive manner and causing malicious damage.

Barlow made no plea or declaration before being committed for further examination. He is expected to make a second appearance in court next week.

His appearance follows an incident yesterday in Lerwick and Scalloway.
