Yell community files application for five wind turbines

The community in North Yell has lodged its planning application for five wind turbines at Gutcher.

At a height of 70 metres to the tip of their blades, North Yell Development Council’s turbines would be slightly less than half the height of the turbines proposed for the Viking windfarm.

Combined, they could produce up to 4.25 MW whereas a single Viking turbine is rated at 3.6MW.
